Tyre Derived Fuel (TDF)
Tyre Derived Fuel (TDF) is a fuel derived from scrap tyres from all sizes. TDF is typically found in 6-2 inches, minus chip size with or without steal removed. TDF is primarily used as a supplemental energy source when burned for energy production.
Industrial pulp and paper mills, cement kilns and electric facilities use TDF in combination to increase boiler efficiencies and decrease cost in lowering air emissions. More than 50% of annual scrap tyre supply worldwide is consumed as TDF.
